City Economic Development Partners to Offer Facade Grants to Businesses

Each year, the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development applies for grants through the State of Maryland (DHCD) to assist small business owners with façade improvements and, more recently, to help with improvements to the interiors of those businesses.

To award these grants, the Department of Economic Development works closely with partners representing three regions of The City:

Downtown Frederick Partnership – the Main Street Corridor: Market Street, Patrick Street, & East Street
Golden Mile Alliance – Route 40/Golden Mile/West Patrick Street
East Frederick Rising – the area surrounding East Street and the Municipal Airport

The grant program will match a business’ investment up to $10,000.

The City's Department of Economic Development has applied and been approved for monies available in the current fiscal year for each region. If you are, or know, a business owner in any of those areas, and want to make improvements to the façade or interior of that business, contact the respective partner organization to see if you are eligible to participate.

Below are several examples of businesses that have benefited from the grant monies and the façade improvement or mission interior program.
