New Life at the Hartz Business Center
Constructed in 1956, the building at 1341 Hughes Ford originally served as an eyeglasses manufacturing plant and then memorably as the Hartz Men’s Clothing manufacturing facility until its closure in 2006. FDK Runway Expansion Completed
On October 28, 2020, The City of Frederick celebrated the completion of the runway extension at Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK). The project brings the total length of Runway 5-23 to 5819’. This new length improves the safety margins for all local aircraft and will accommodate increased fuel and passenger loads for larger jets flying in and out of Frederick.
