Last July, the City’s GROW Grant program guidelines were updated to provide opportunities to a wider range of businesses for the coming fiscal year. Since the program’s refresh, two businesses — ODIN Crossfit and Gravel & Grind — have been able to take advantage of the program, and a third project in process. Historic Preservation Property Tax Credit Applications Open
The City of Frederick is accepting applications for the City Historic Preservation Property Tax Credit until April 1, 2022. Tax paying property owners may apply for a credit equal to 25 percent of the properly documented expenditures incurred during 2021 for exterior work that contributes to the restoration or preservation of a structure designated by the City of Frederick as a Historic Preservation Overlay zone.

City Establishes New Purchasing Policies
On Thursday, November 18th, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen approved of a Resolution to adopt changes to the Purchasing Polices of The City of Frederick. Included in these changes is the establishment of a goals-based Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) program and a Small Business Reserve program.
