Whether you’re at the conceptual stage or already established, we’re always happy to meet in-person to discuss your plans and make sure you’re on track for success. We can help direct you to relevant local resources, connect you with State & local incentives, and assist in navigating City processes.
Site Selection Assistance
Our Department offers free reports of available commercial properties within the City upon request. Reports can be customized to meet size or business-specific requirements. We’re happy to walk you through some important location considerations — such as zoning & building requirements — as well.
Submit a Press Release
PR Frederick is a no charge press release service, provided collaboratively between the City of Frederick and Frederick County Office of Economic Development. This complimentary service enables local businesses to distribute business news to be picked up by major search engines, regional/national/international news sites, and directly to over 30,000 journalists and bloggers. Let us help you share your good news!
Stay Current On Local Business News & Events
Throughout the year, our Department distributes ten email newsletters to our local business community – highlighting major local business news, stories, events, grand openings, and ‘attaboys.’ We also are active across many social media platforms — including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

In addition to sharing current news, our Department works to offer frequent resource ‘cheat sheets’ and ‘handbooks’ relevant to Frederick business owners — including topics like How to Do Business with the City of Frederick, A City Incentives Overview, and How to Start a Business in Frederick. We sprinkle these helpful resource guides in our newsletters and social media pages, but they live permanently on our blog and website as well.
Apply for a Filming Permit
The City’s Department of Economic Development is also responsible for processing filming requests in the City of Frederick. If you have a commercial filming project planned on public property, be sure to get in touch.
