Our partners at Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS) are dedicated to linking businesses in need of qualified employees with individuals seeking employment opportunities. The FCWS Business Team works closely with local companies on job postings and promotion, recruitment and retention solutions, pipeline development, training programs, labor market information, and workforce education.
The Business Team has recently launched several new initiatives– such as CDL certification & internship wage reimbursement – to assist companies addressing critical workforce development needs in our community.

Frederick Business Works
Frederick BusinessWORKS is an effort to support workers and increase both participants' and companies' competitiveness. This program offers funding support for incumbent worker training.
Work and Learn Internship
The Work and Learn Internship Program provides wage reimbursement to Frederick County businesses that host paid work experiences in occupations that are in critical demand.
Frederick Drives
The Frederick Drives Program supports businesses in Frederick County that provide advancement opportunity for an existing employee to obtain a Commercial Driver License, this program provides a training subsidy.
Business Education Series
This is a FREE business education series for Frederick County business owners, executives, HR specialists, and employees. All can benefit from this high-level, value-added professional training to streamline processes, build strategic plans and develop effective practices during the pandemic and beyond.
Experience Frederick Internship Program
Experience Frederick Internship Program supports businesses in the Frederick County Biotech industry and college students pursuing related education. This program provides wage reimbursement to businesses that host paid internships for college students and recent graduates.
BioTech Boot Camp
Coming in early 2022: The Biotech Boot Camp training program is designed to help jobseekers gain the fundamental skillsets necessary to enter Frederick’s growing biotech industry. The program is perfect for both first-time & experienced workers looking for a new career pathway. Following the successful completion of the course, program members will be matched with local biotech companies for entry-level job position interviews.
